Toys and Anime Characters

I didn't start out trying to shoot toys, but given my health and condition on the days I can't get out of bed or the house I started to shoot toys so I would have something interesting to shoot for the Daily or 365Project. My collection is of various Japanese anime, manga toys and other collections. Eventually I will probably break this down into separate groups.

April 2, 2011-Ren was feeling a bit neglected, and he wanted me to take his picture and use it for the dailies. “He said he had something neat to show everyone. He said his best friend besides Treeson, is his wagon; he can use it to haul anything and he never leaves the house without his backpack. His backpack is very special, it contains his secrets and because it holds his secrets he won't show me or anyone what is inside. Oh and he forgot to add Panda as his best friend too. And his name means “Human” in Chinese.”-Ren. Fascinating…I need another cup of coffee, I can see it’s going to be a long day once the other guys see Ren was on the dailies…(92:365 @sharkbayte)

  • June 16, 2011-What an awesome surprise we had today. Cheburashka's cousin "The 2004 Russian Winter Olympic team mascot Cheburashka" (yes same name, his parents named him first) arrived today via my awesome friends, Susan and Rustem a.k.a. RuSu (thank you!) What a fun day and night! Our newest member sang and danced with us for hours. I left everyone partying and wanted to post this before heading to bed! Thank you all for your kind comments on my catnap photo yesterday! You all rock! (Day 167:365 @sharkbayte)
  • June 11, 2011- As the day progressed we had a lot of thunder and lighting. We started to head for the house, the thunder was getting louder and the sky was turning black and this is the sight we saw come out of the forest. Friends let me introduce you to the 3 founding members of the Insurgents Wilderness Gruppo/I.W.G: Hannibal The Mountain Guerrilla , Alfonso the White Rhino, and Titus the Grizzly Bear. I have heard of these guys but only in whispers at night around the camp fires. They are visionaries and the first of their kind. With steadfast fortitude and dedication, they are leading animal-kind to a new era...Bad humans beware, you can run but you can't hide, the I.W.G. will be there...*(Day 162:365 @sharkbayte).<br /> *Part me and part from their box top.
  • June 10, 2011-A little birdie came to me in my dreams and told me to go to the rock. Well bless my soul, I found a mole! This is Topo, he followed me home. Not sure if having a mole in the gang is a good thing or not. But we'll keep him entertained for sure. (Day 161:365 @sharkbayte)

  • May 31, 2011-Uh-oh! I kept hearing some weird noises in the middle of the night. Not sure what could me making these sounds. Everyone was sleeping. So as I turned on the light I found the source of the sounds. Both claimed they were sleep walking...(Day 151:365 @sharkbayte) Thank you so much for all the kind comments on my picture yesterday.   • May 27, 2011-Monkeyshines. Our little Chebruashka thought this was one of the ball pits kids play in. Sort of gives a new meaning to stop playing with your food. More correctly stop playing in your food. (Day 147:365 @sharkbayte) Thank you so much for your comments on my picture yesterday.
  • May 26, 2011-All smiles, usually means someone is doing something or planning on doing something. Neither Ren or Chebruashka would give it up and the panda wasn't talking either.   • May 7, 2011-Close enough. I was telling the gang today is the 137th Kentucky Derby Race, aka 'Run for the Roses'. About an hour later, Chebruashka comes inside with this and says, "Here, I ran for the roses." I cracked up and told him it was close enough. (Day 127:365 @sharkbayte)
  • April 28, 2011- Some days, I could wring a few people's neck or shake them silly…but, I like to believe I am above that. Still the thought does cross my mind, even though physically I couldn’t. Disclaimer**No toys were physically or mentally harmed during this session. (Day 118:365 @sharkbayte)
  • April 23, 2011 – “The Easter Bunny helpers.” When Rickey and Jun left the house early today, I followed them as they were being so secretive. Now I know what they were doing and we have to keep the area a secret because they were doing a special task. Today’s task was to help gather the special eggs for the Easter Bunny. Santa has his helpers, so why not the Easter Bunny? (Day 113:365 @sharkbayte)

  • April 4, 2011-Yay!! The boys are happy! I wanted to see how Gena and Cheburashka were doing being on their own. Much to my delight they are getting along fabulously. You can even see the happiness in Cheburashka’s eyes. As we visited they also told me that they wanted to move in here so they can be closer to the family and that they still want to go to the zoo every day and volunteer their time. Such good guys they are! I was more than thrilled that way we would all be together and that is something big for Gena as he was alone for so long. So I am happy to report they are doing great!   • March 29, 2011- As we leave our friends Cheburashka and Gene to settle in and get used to living together, we go back to the jungle and meet Captain Coco. "Captain Coco was once a simple and carefree monkey, living in a lush tropical paradise among his jungle friends. One day, smoke and noise woke Coco from a lazy afternoon nap; his jungle home was being invaded by evil developers! Captain Coco knew what he had to do. He alerted his pals and together they formed the Cocommando.   • March 28, 2011-Meet Gene, he is a crocodile of course and he is around fifty years old, which is very young for crocodiles. He used to live with his grandmother on the Nile in Africa before he left to see the world. When his money ran out he searched for a job and found one at the zoo. This is the same zoo where Cheburashka brought to live. Gene’s job at the zoo was to sit in an enclosure that had a pool, some rocks, a lounge chair and a tree and when visitors came to the zoo, they always stop and talk to Gene and bring him treats. When the zoo closes at night, Gene returns home to his lonely apartment. He had some hobbies but no friends outside of the zoo. Gene is tired of living alone and not having friends; perhaps having Cheburashka live with him would change all this for the better. Cheburashka could also work at the zoo and have his own enclosure to play in during the day. (88:365 @sharkbayte)
  • March 27, 2011-Cheburashka needs to find a home. The human that found Cheburashka couldn’t keep him. He figured the best place that could care for him would be the zoo. But the zoo keeper said he didn’t have room for Cheburashka and sent little Cheburashka on his way. Scared and alone Cheburashka started to cry. He must have been crying loudly because it drew the attention of one of the zoo workers name Gene. Gene had overheard the humans talking about what to do with little Cheburashka and felt bad that he would be alone and without a home. Gene is a kind, hard worker and lonely man without family or friends. Gene knows what it is like to be alone in the world and felt that he could help Cheburashka and end his loneliness as well. Perhaps they can become a family, would Gene be able to take care of Cheburashka, what do we know about Gene…so many questions…but that is for another day. (87:365 @sharkbayte)
  • March 26, 2011-Hi! They call me Cheburashka, although that is not really my name. I don’t remember my name. I used to live in a beautiful tropical jungle. One morning I got up early while everyone was still sleeping. I wanted to go outside to play and get some fresh air. I left my home where my parents and my siblings were sleeping. I kept walking and walking until I came to the edge on the jungle and there I saw a large orchard and some boxes of oranges. Since I was hungry, I climbed into one of the boxes and began to eat breakfast. I ate three whole oranges, and that was a mistake, because my belly was too full and I was getting very sleepy. So I went to sleep on top of the fruit, in the box. When I woke up it was very dark, and I could not get out of the box, it was nailed shut. Now, I was hungry because it was late, so I ate some more oranges and went to sleep again. I must have slept a long time. I heard strange noises which scared me, I felt like I was moving and getting bounced around. I tried to get out but I couldn’t move. Finally I heard humans talking and I could see some light coming through the tiny holes in the box. Then the top of the box opened. When the box opened, I saw that almost all of the oranges were gone, and I was so full my stomach was bloated and I could not sit up. Then a human picked me up and tried to make me stand, but I could not because my leg was numb from being cramped in the box. When I tried to walk I fell because of my leg being numb and sleeping. The human said I looked like a tumbling (cheburahalsya) toy. And so he called me Cheburashka. (Day 86:365 @sharkbayte)
  • March 25, 2011-This is Cheburashka. The character comes from Eduard Uspensky's story about a mysterious creature who gets accidentally transported in a box of oranges to Russia. More on this story as the characters are introduced. He arrived yesterday along with his friend Gena or Gene from the stories and another character that I will tie in with him and Treeson eventually. I fell in love with this guy a while back but never could find him online to purchase. Finally found him as well as the old stories and cartoons about him. These stories are from Russia in the late sixty’s and seventy's. (85:365 @sharkbayte)
