  • August 8, 2011-Mug Shot. I swear he has lips and mustache. This is handheld, and could be a lot better, but thought the face was interesting even with the five o'clock shadow/stubble. (220:365) thanks for all the comments on my shot yesterday!
  • August 7, 2011-Caught the giant Red footed Cannibalfly mating. They didn't move as I got closer to them to photograph. (219:365) thanks for all the comments on my shot yesterday of the Twins Marshall and Marco.
  • August 6, 2011-S'more fun with the twins; Marshall and Marco are creating s'more treats for us. (218:365) Thanks for all the comments and well wishes the past few days. You all are terrific!
  • August 5, 2011-The early evening light in the woods always catches my attention. While I was outside with Jasper the deer were here and I loved how the light was coming through the trees. (217:365)
  • August 4, 2011- A True Katydid - Pterophylla camellifolia. Found this guy on the lattice which is part of my deck. He was hiding in between two pieces of lattice work. Posting very late today. (216:365) Posting very late today, as my Mom is leaving tomorrow so she is keeping me busy until she leaves. I used to have a lot more energy but lately as I had said before the chemo is really zapping my energy levels...C'est la vie.
  • August 3, 2011 - This is a Giant Robber Fly "Species Promachus rufipes Red footed Cannibalfly". He landed on the leaf above where I was shooting the red dragonfly, he seemed to be checking out what was going on, I snapped this and he took off. (215:365)<br />

Thank you for all the kind comments on my dragonfly shot yesterday, much appreciated. I am sorry I tried to comment on everyone's pictures but sleep took over. I will try again today.
  • August 2, 2011-I believe, this skimmer is a Cardinal Meadowhawk (Sympetrum illotum). This is the first time I have seen one of these. If you look at it in larger sizes you can see more details. I cropped a bit and adjusted the contrasts a smidgen. (214:365) Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my shot of the twins yesterday, I truly appreciate it! I tried to comment as much as I could and hope to be able to do so again today.

  • July 31, 2011-Found this ambush nymph on the gate to my ramp. I nearly crushed him with my fingers, as I was grabbing the gate. Posting late again and probably will be until my Mom leaves on the 5th. I am sorry I wasn't able to comment on everyone's pictures yesterday, I am trying but the exhaustion from the chemo is really kicking my butt. Thank you for all the comments on my shot yesterday. (212:365)
  • July 30, 2011-This guy was minding his own business on the lawn when a beautiful black cat started messing with him. For some reason I think the black cat wanted to let this one know where is place was in the cat community. I was trying to stop it but they didn't listen to me. Thankfully this guy backed down at first then stood his ground and made his way to the top of the stairs near the food without incident. All was calm again when he reached the top. Victory for Tommy! 211:365) Thanks for all the comments on my shot yesterday!
  • July 29, 2011-This caught my eye as I was in the backyard. It looked as if the leaf was glowing. I haven't been able to capture the globe glowing as it doesn't seem to be working. I forgot to put it outside in the sunlight and see if that will recharge it, the light in the house didn't work. (210:365)
  • July 28, 2011-Shot this about an hour ago, I am posting late as my Mom has been keeping me busy with other things and so I haven't been able to post early as I normally do. I was able to get to commenting last night and hopefully I can do it again tonight. I am blown away with everyone's postings. (209:365)
