Full Wolf Moon - or January's Full Moon. I was hoping to find out why I don't seem to capture as many details in a full moon shot versus a half moon or even a quarter moon shot. I'll try again next full moon. Day 20:365 @sharkbayte

on January 29, 2011I have shot the moon many, many times and all have been horrible. I just looked at your settings (iso 200, shutter at 250, f11). I, too, used a low iso but I have never been able to get the detail you have gotten here. This is amazing. I will have to keep trying, but probably in the spring when I don't feel rushed to get out of the cold lol. Did you use any exposure compensation? Mine have all been a bright glowing ball without the detail that I see when I look at the moon. It's been frustrating to me...... this is really wonderful. Kudos on your great success.......
PS- My friend Carol (www.carolnuccio.smugmug.com) were talking about the different photographers in the dailies- she thinks you are a male and I thought you were female. Can you be the tie breaker on that lol?? I always like to get an idea of who I'm communicating with and your nickname doesn't give a clue. ;)
