2011 Daily Photos
July 19, 2011-This is the ventral view of a Black and Yellow Argiope - argiope aurantia. They are also called Golden Orb weavers, Writing Spiders or Garden Spiders. My neighbor called me to come grab a shot of it. She wanted me to see the top of it or rather it's dorsal side. So, she moved the web, the spider ran/jumped down and I was out of there. Nothing really phases me or scares me but put a spider in my personal space and my heart stops, my throat seems to clamp shut and when I get my voice back, my voice goes ultra soprano, my wheelchair can't move fast enough and I need to change my shorts. That was the end of my day outdoors, thank you very much. What did my neighbor do? She laughed the entire time!! On the ground, rolling around laughing! That's okay, wait until she sees a snake in the yard... (200:365)
Thank you for all the comments on my buck shot yesterday!

on July 20, 2011Awesome clarity -- I would still totally be screaming my head off if I saw this in person, but great clarity for the shot. :-)
