April 11, 2011-This is a six spotted tiger beetle (Cicendela sexguttata). I found him flying low to the ground; while the sun was hitting him the colors were dazzling. (Day 101:365 @sharkbayte)

• April 14, 2011-Hiding out. While, I was coming around the back of the house I saw 6 cats scatter. This guy is the littlest cat from the group. (Day 104:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 13, 2011-Another busy day for mother nature. We had t-storms, then the sun would make an appearance and then as soon as I went outside it started again. So no moon shot tonight, just hope the internet stays on. (Day 103:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 12, 2011- Eight day old moon or a waxing Gibbous moon, I been trying to capture the moon as soon as I can; starting at day three or four. But Mother Nature likes to mess with me. So far I have managed days five, seven and last night's eight day old moon. I am hoping for tonight, we'll see what Mother Nature wants to do. (Day 102:365 @sharkbayte)

• April 10, 2011-A cat on a hot tin roof. Okay it’s not really a tin roof and it was not really hot, but there is a cat on there. This is Allison’s new spot to hang out on, all the other cats were sitting crouched up on the ground, except a new cat was in a tree. Allison seems to have found the perfect spot. It was rather damp and colder today; the rains came with some hail and wild weather. I was hoping to get some lightening shots, but the rain was coming inside the house when I opened the door and power-wheelchairs are lightening magnets soo…gotta figure out a safer way to go about doing that. thank you for all the comments on my flower shot yesterday, much appreciated!
• April 9, 2011-this is one of my neighbor's plants she planted a few weeks ago. I liked these tiny flowers and their colors. (Day 99:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 8, 2011-This large Eastern Carpenter bee and company have set up house on the ramp, right outside my door. Whenever I come out there they hover on either side of me and then start to chase each other and sometimes me off the ramp. I have been trying to capture them but the minute I focus on them they fly off. Not today! (Day 98:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 7, 2011-Playful pups. Pancho and Lucy were outside playing when I rolled by. Both came running when they spotted me. Whining and crying for attention. I couldn’t get closer because of a ditch but they calmed down as I talked to them. (Day 97:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 6, 2011-the sky changed fast tonight. but luckily we didn't get another storm. (Day 96:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 5, 2011-Another plant I am putting in the yard to spruce up the area a bit. (Day 95:365 @sharkbayte)
thanks for all the wonderful comments on my photos the past few days.
• April 4, 2011-Yay!! The boys are happy! I wanted to see how Gena and Cheburashka were doing being on their own. Much to my delight they are getting along fabulously. You can even see the happiness in Cheburashka’s eyes. As we visited they also told me that they wanted to move in here so they can be closer to the family and that they still want to go to the zoo every day and volunteer their time. Such good guys they are! I was more than thrilled that way we would all be together and that is something big for Gena as he was alone for so long. So I am happy to report they are doing great! (Day 94:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 3, 2011-The clouds were amazing yesterday. I love it when they appear so close, almost like you can reach out and touch them. It also was extremely windy as well so I kept getting debris on my lens. (93:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 2, 2011-Ren was feeling a bit neglected, and he wanted me to take his picture and use it for the dailies. “He said he had something neat to show everyone. He said his best friend besides Treeson, is his wagon; he can use it to haul anything and he never leaves the house without his backpack. His backpack is very special, it contains his secrets and because it holds his secrets he won't show me or anyone what is inside. Oh and he forgot to add Panda as his best friend too. And his name means “Human” in Chinese.”-Ren. Fascinating…I need another cup of coffee, I can see it’s going to be a long day once the other guys see Ren was on the dailies…(92:365 @sharkbayte)
• April 1, 2011-Eating for two - This doe appears pregnant; if she actually is pregnant, May or June she should be arriving with a little one. Her son from 2010 is still in the group, she chased him away from the apple a few minutes after this. Day 91:365 @sharkbayte
• March 31, 2011- Ronsdorfer Beauty, or creeping phlox. I am going to plant these out front for a ground covering around a stone wall. It was raining out so I took these inside and I placed these in a shot glass as they are so tiny. (90:365 @sharkbayte)
thanks for all the comments on my wisteria picture yesterday.
• March 30, 2011-Wisteria hanging from the trees. I wanted to get closer but there was no way I could with the ditches surrounding the area it is growing in. There was a branch running across the center of this, I tried to remove it without showing the edits. Something I really need to learn to do. (89:365 @sharkbayte)
thanks for all the comments on my characters. I'll be shooting more of them, shortly, they requested some alone time do live their life without the camera in their face.
• March 29, 2011- As we leave our friends Cheburashka and Gena to settle in and get used to living together, we go back to the jungle and meet Captain Coco. "Captain Coco was once a simple and carefree monkey, living in a lush tropical paradise among his jungle friends. One day, smoke and noise woke Coco from a lazy afternoon nap; his jungle home was being invaded by evil developers! Captain Coco knew what he had to do. He alerted his pals and together they formed the Cocommando. The Cocommando patrols the jungle, teaching everyone to appreciate the wonder of nature as a unique and precious treasure, while protecting the beauty of the land." -from Simone Legno (Tokidoki) Day 89:365 @sharkbayte
thank you for all the comments and suggestions, much appreciated.
• March 28, 2011-Meet Gene, he is a crocodile of course and he is around fifty years old, which is very young for crocodiles. He used to live with his grandmother on the Nile in Africa before he left to see the world. When his money ran out he searched for a job and found one at the zoo. This is the same zoo where Cheburashka was brought to live. Gene’s job at the zoo was to sit in an enclosure that had a pool, some rocks, a lounge chair and a tree and when visitors came to the zoo, they always stop and talk to Gene and bring him treats. When the zoo closes at night, Gene returns home to his lonely apartment. He has some hobbies but no friends outside of the zoo. Gene is tired of living alone and not having friends; perhaps having Cheburashka live with him would change all this for the better. Cheburashka could also work at the zoo and have his own enclosure to play in during the day. (88:365 @sharkbayte)
Thank you for all the comments on my pictures, it is very much appreciated.
• March 27, 2011-Cheburashka needs to find a home. The human that found Cheburashka couldn’t keep him. He figured the best place that could care for him would be the zoo. But the zoo keeper said he didn’t have room for Cheburashka and sent little Cheburashka on his way. Scared and alone Cheburashka started to cry. He must have been crying loudly because it drew the attention of one of the zoo workers name Gene. Gene had overheard the humans talking about what to do with little Cheburashka and felt bad that he would be alone and without a home. Gene is a kind, hard worker and lonely man without family or friends. Gene knows what it is like to be alone in the world and felt that he could help Cheburashka and end his loneliness as well. Perhaps they can become a family, would Gene be able to take care of Cheburashka, what do we know about Gene…so many questions…but that is for another day. (87:365 @sharkbayte)
• March 26, 2011-Hi! They call me Cheburashka, although that is not really my name. I don’t remember my name. I used to live in a beautiful tropical jungle. One morning I got up early while everyone was still sleeping. I wanted to go outside to play and get some fresh air. I left my home where my parents and my siblings were sleeping. I kept walking and walking until I came to the edge on the jungle and there I saw a large orchard and some boxes of oranges. Since I was hungry, I climbed into one of the boxes and began to eat breakfast. I ate three whole oranges, and that was a mistake, because my belly was too full and I was getting very sleepy. So I went to sleep on top of the fruit, in the box. When I woke up it was very dark, and I could not get out of the box, it was nailed shut. Now, I was hungry because it was late, so I ate some more oranges and went to sleep again. I must have slept a long time. I heard strange noises which scared me, I felt like I was moving and getting bounced around. I tried to get out but I couldn’t move. Finally I heard humans talking and I could see some light coming through the tiny holes in the box. Then the top of the box opened. When the box opened, I saw that almost all of the oranges were gone, and I was so full my stomach was bloated and I could not sit up. Then a human picked me up and tried to make me stand, but I could not because my leg was numb from being cramped in the box. When I tried to walk I fell because of my leg being numb and sleeping. The human said I looked like a tumbling (cheburahalsya) toy. And so he called me Cheburashka. (Day 86:365 @sharkbayte)
