• July 27, 2011- On attack mode, or at least it looks like it to me. This is a wheel bug like I had shot the other day. (208:365)
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes and comments on my picture yesterday. Sorry I didn't get to comment on yours, but will try to get to get back to comment on yours later today if all goes okay.
• July 26, 2011-Birthday gifts from my Mom! My Mom arrived last night to celebrate my 50th birthday today. This is the first time since I moved to NC seventeen years ago that she has come down for my birthday and we celebrated it. This globe from Mom is of an underwater scene and it glows in the dark. I can't wait to see what it looks like tonight. So now you know why I posted this late today. (207:365)
• July 25, 2011-I love clouds as you probably have guessed by now. The clouds were out and doing their magic. What do you see in the clouds?(206:365)
• July 24, 2011- Wheel Bug - Arilus cristatus. Posting late today, I shot this with a flash as it was getting dark out and I wanted to show more of its features. These guys are considered a true bug in the bug world. They are classified as assassin bugs with that set up I can see why. Looks like a true monster as far as bugs go. For an interesting read on these guys: http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/trees/wheel_bug.htm (205:365)
Thank you for all the comments on my shot yesterday! Professor Layton was very impressed!
• July 23, 2011-Come, pull up chair and sit a spell - as I have a story to tell…(to be continued another day) (204:365) Thank you all so very much for all the wonderful comments on my cloud shot yesterday.
• July 22, 2011-Storms a brewing. What started off so dramatic, winds picking up, debris flying around, branches coming down, thunder and then a few sprinkles; the ones were you can dodge them. Well that was it, what a dud!(203:365)

Thank you all for all the wonderful comments on my fawn shot, you made my day, thank you!
• July 21, 2011-I finally caught the fawns playing in the yard. I have known and seen them for a few weeks, but they were shy and stayed in the woods. Tonight as I approached slowly, they came from behind their mother and came pretty close to me. However it was so humid my camera lens fogged. So those shots were not doable. Here they spotted one of the cats (out of frame) and they started to chase him. I was surprised they weren't scared of me and their mother just looked up when I got close and went back to eating. I guess she trusted me. (202:365)
Thank you for all the comments on my dragonfly capture yesterday!
• July 20, 2011-I believe I have the id correct Blue Dasher. I also captured a huge blue skimmer, wasn't thrilled with that one as he never turned around. I'll see if I can find him/her again later on today. Thank you for all the comments on my spider shot yesterday. You folks are the best and really made my day. As I was outside shooting this guy, I found the spider from yesterday, this time he moved onto my neighbors screen door. Suddenly she doesn't want to use that door hmm....(201:365)
• July 19, 2011-This is the ventral view of a Black and Yellow Argiope - argiope aurantia. They are also called Golden Orb weavers, Writing Spiders or Garden Spiders. My neighbor called me to come grab a shot of it. She wanted me to see the top of it or rather it's dorsal side. So, she moved the web, the spider ran/jumped down and I was out of there. Nothing really phases me or scares me but put a spider in my personal space and my heart stops, my throat seems to clamp shut and when I get my voice back, my voice goes ultra soprano, my wheelchair can't move fast enough and I need to change my shorts. That was the end of my day outdoors, thank you very much. What did my neighbor do? She laughed the entire time!! On the ground, rolling around laughing! That's okay, wait until she sees a snake in the yard... (200:365)
• July 17, 2011-Finally caught a dragonfly. My wheelchair makes enough noise to scare off most insects whenever I try to get close to them. Today this one first flew off but I stayed where I was and watched him circle back and he posed for me. (Hey I'm telling the story here, so we'll stick to he posed for me, rather than say it's normal behavior). 198:365
Thank you for all the wonderful comments on my cat shot yesterday, very much appreciate all of them and the inspiration I get from everyone. I'm sorry I didn't get to comment as much yesterday, hope to get caught up today if the day goes better for me.
• July 16, 2011-Taking a break from the kittens. It was late in the day when I took this. The big lens was great for getting close. However the photos were darker than what I liked so I tried to clean this up as best as possible. (197:365) Thanks for the comments on Jasper yesterday!
