2011 Daily Photos
April 10, 2011-A cat on a hot tin roof. Okay it’s not really a tin roof and it was not really hot, but there is a cat on there. This is Allison’s new spot to hang out on, all the other cats were sitting crouched up on the ground, except a new cat was in a tree. Allison seems to have found the perfect spot. It was rather damp and colder today; the rains came with some hail and wild weather. I was hoping to get some lightening shots, but the rain was coming inside the house when I opened the door and power-wheelchairs are lightening magnets soo…gotta figure out a safer way to go about doing that. thank you for all the comments on my flower shot yesterday, much appreciated!

on April 11, 2011Oh, yes...shortly after purchasing the camera, I went out on a limb and snagged a cheap 70-300mm, then one evening I noticed lightning off to the north of us and decided this might be a good time to try to capture some lightning...well, I neglected to put the strap around my neck and proceeded to set the tripod up when I heard something scraping on the shingles and then begin to tumble...I lunged for the strap with the tripod and missed, all I could was lay there sprawled out and watch as the camera disappeared over the edge of the roof and hear it hit the ground and tumble a second later...slowly, I made my way down off the roof trying to figure out what I was going to tell my wife...miraculously, the camera received nary a scratch, the lens was still somewhat functional...thus, 'The Klutzy Photographer'...you can check out the shots I got back in '09, should really rework those and get rid of the noise in them, haven't really had any opportunities like that since...
