Insects, Butterflys, Moths and others.

All insects. I loved entomology in college, since moving to NC I finally get to see insects I only studied in books and not in person.

  • Day 213/365 - Found these two Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus). Helping themselves to the Rose of Sharon. I just wish I had my 100.0mm for these guys. (reminder never leave home without it!) #365Project Settings: 170.0mm f/5.0 1/250s ISO: 200
  • Day 206- #365Project- Today was the day of the bug/insects. This big ole' grasshopper was just sitting on the patio today, he almost met my tires. (2010.007.25) @sharkbayte
  • #365Project - Day 207/365- Just hanging around making bubbles. It's a Robber Fly, he likes to make bubbles. I have more where he didn't have this bubble thing going on. (2010.07.26)
  • Day 205-Another day of the dragon's. This one if you look close and enlarge it almost looks like it has teeth and a smile on the lower mandible. #365Project Settings: 100.0mm f/2.8 1/200s ISO: 200 (2010.07.24) @sharkbayte

Better, but if you've got an IS lens, you'd do as well as in your last shot. But fair warning: dragons and damsels can be addictive. (See my Dragons an Damsels Gallery. In the absence of birds this summer, I spent 3 months trying to get one good shot of a black saddlebags. Never got the great shot, and that just kept me going even during this most unusual "boring" season.)
